Diarex
®
(TABLET)
The dependable antidiarrheal
Diarex, a phytopharmaceutical
formulation, is recommended
for the treatment of acute and
chronic diarrhea. The antidiarrheal,
antimicrobial, and amebicidal
actions of Diarex are beneficial in the
management of acute and chronic
amebiasis. Diarex relieves postprandial
abdominal discomfort and regularizes
bowel movement.

Clinical Pharmacology
Diarex has antidiarrheal, antimicrobial
and amebicidal, antioxidant, anti-
inflammatory, anthelmintic, and
antispasmodic actions.
The antimicrobial, antidiarrheal, and
astringent actions of Diarex regularize
the bowel movements, and are
effective in the treatment of acute and
chronic diarrhea. The antimicrobial,
anthelmintic, and amebicidal actions
of Diarex are beneficial in the
management of acute and chronic
amebiasis. The anti-inflammatory,
antioxidant, and demulcent properties
of Diarex facilitate the healing
process of intestinal mucosa. The
antispasmodic action of Diarex
relieves abdominal colic.
Indications
• Acute and chronic diarrhea
• Acute and chronic amebiasis
• As an adjuvant to the treatment of
irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
Dosage
Children:
½ to 1 tablet twice daily.
Adults:
1 to 2 tablets twice daily.
Adverse Effects
No adverse effects have been reported.
Contraindications
No known contraindications.
Special Precautions
When symptoms in acute diarrhea
and amebiasis are not controlled after
3 days, it is advisable to carry out
investigations to find specific causative
factors, and other suitable medications
may be added.
Drug Interactions
No clinically significant drug
interactions have been reported.

Ingredients
1. Antidiarrheal action
H antidysenterica

A marmelos
,

P granatum
have antidiarrheal
properties, which help in controlling
the hypersecretory phase of acute and
chronic infectious diarrhea.
H antidysenterica
also has astringent
action, and is used in the treatment of
amebic dysentery and diarrhea.
Shankha bhasma is a digestive, and
also helpful in controlling diarrhea.
2. Antimicrobial and
amebicidal actions
P granatum
has broad-spectrum
antimicrobial activity, and is active
against the strains of
Escherichia coli
.
