Adults: 1 to 2 teaspoonsful (5–10 mL) twice daily after meals. Adverse Effects No adverse effects have been reported. Contraindications There are no known contraindications. Special Precaution In complete ureteral obstruction, it is not advisable to recommend Cystone-SF liquid. Drug Interactions No clinically significant drug interactions have been reported. Presentation Pilfer-proof bottles of 200 mL. Pharmacological Actions of Principal Ingredients 1. Antimicrobial action: Cystone-SF liquid exerts broad-spectrum antimicrobial action through its ingredient herbs, namely Tribulus terrestris, Curcuma zedoaria, and Asparagus racemosus, against the common urinary pathogens responsible for recurring UTIs. 2. Antiadherent action: The polyphenols present in Cystone-SF liquid are known to act as natural antiadhesion components responsible for preventing the adhesion of Escherichia coli to the uroepithelium. This helps in the natural evacuation of Escherichia coli along with the urine flow. 3. Anti-inflammatory action: Cyperus rotundus and Boerhaavia diffusa possess anti-inflammatory action, and thus, help reduce the inflammatory changes that occur in the mucosa of the urinary tract, during UTI. 4. Demulcent action: Asparagus racemosus has demulcent property because of its high mucilage content, and hence, soothes and protects the irritated or inflamed internal tissues of the urinary tract.
