Bresol-NS helps keep the nasal mucosa moist, softens the mucous crusts, clears the built up tenacious mucus, and helps wash off allergens. The demulcent, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic actions of Bresol-NS help soothe the irritated and swollen mucosa by reducing inflammation, strengthening natural defense, and relieving nasal congestion. Bresol-NS helps physically disrupt the viscous surface layer of the nasal mucosa; removes the thick mucus, crusts, and debris; and rinses off airborne aggressors (eg, pollutants, pollen, and microorganisms). The saline nature of the solution helps pull water out of the cells, resulting in increased hydration of the deeper aqueous portion of the mucous layer. This improves mucociliary clearance, reduces local inflammatory mediators, and thus, decreases nasal epithelial edema.
