Metabolites like eugenol, pyrogallol, and cinnamaldehyde from Cinnamomum zeylanicum were found to inhibit COX-2 and provide anti-inflammatory effect. 4. Antioxidant action: The antioxidant action adds synergy to the anti-inflammatory action of Rumalaya gel. Mentha arvensis, Pinus roxburghii, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Vitex negundo, and Zingiber officinale are potent antioxidants. 5. Glycosaminoglycan-building action: Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) form an important component of the connective tissue, and provide structural support to the body.
