Pharmacological Actions of Principal Ingredients 1. Antimicrobial action: Curcuma longa, Cassia fistula, Psoralea corylifolia, Azadirachta indica, Embelia ribes, Momordica charantia, Tinospora cordifolia, and Andrographis paniculata have remarkable antimicrobial activity against common bacteria. Curcuma longa and Azadirachta indica have antiviral property. Inula racemosa and Aloe vera have antimicrobial activity against commonly encountered microbial isolates. 2. Anti-allergic action: Picroliv from Picrorhiza kurroa has antianaphylaxis activity. A glycoprotein present in Aloe vera has antihistaminic activity. Inula racemosa is a known antihistaminic agent. 3. Detoxifying action: Curcuma longa, Azadirachta indica, Triphala, Andrographis paniculata, Cassia fistula, and Picrorhiza kurroa are used as detoxifiers and are beneficial in different skin diseases. 4. Hepatostimulant action: Eclipta alba and Aloe vera are enriched with hepatoprotective property, useful in various skin diseases. 5.
