Platelet-augmentation activity: Carica papaya is reported to enhance the of level of arachidonate 12-lipoxygenase and platelet-activating factor receptor gene expression that is responsible for increased platelet production. The flavonoids and phenolic compounds present in Carica papaya exhibit membrane-stabilizing activity by decreasing peripheral platelet destruction. 2. Antidengue and antiviral activities: Studies have shown that Carica papaya has potent antiviral property, as it decreases the intracellular dengue virus (DENV) load and prevents thrombocytopenia. Phyllanthus maderaspatensis and Tinospora cordifolia also possess potent antiviral activity. 3. Antipyretic activity: Tinospora cordifolia is known to strengthen the host immune system by activating macrophages, NF-κβ translocation, and cytokine production. In addition, it is also known for its antipyretic activity. Piperine in Piper nigrum also possesses antipyretic activity. 4. Hepatoprotective activity: Phyllanthus maderaspatensis and Tinospora cordifolia possess hepatoprotective activity.
