It enhances the arachidonate 12‑lipoxygenase level and the platelet-activating factor receptor gene expression that is responsible for increased platelet production. Platenza decreases peripheral platelet destruction through its membrane-stabilizing activity. Platenza strengthens the host immune system by activating the macrophages, nuclear factor (NF)-κB translocation, and cytokine production. Platenza also possesses antipyretic, antiviral, hepatoprotective, and bioavailability-enhancing properties. Platenza helps reverse low platelet counts occurring in dengue and other clinical conditions associated with mild-to-moderate thrombocytopenia, and thus, hastens recovery. Indications • Mild-to-moderate thrombocytopenia due to – dengue – malaria and typhoid – viral infections such as hepatitis B and C, H1N1, HIV, and MMR • Drug-induced thrombocytopenia Dosage Syrup 2–5 years: ½ to 1 teaspoonful (2.5 to 5 mL) twice daily.
