However, Pilex forte ointment can be used during pregnancy. Drug Interactions No clinically significant drug interactions have been reported. Presentation Box of 2 blister-pack strips of 30 tablets each. Pharmacological Actions of Principal Ingredients 1. Anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions: The anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions of the constituents of Pilex forte tablet are mediated via prostaglandin synthesis–inhibiting and cell membrane–stabilizing activities, and suppression of cellular inflammatory response. Commiphora wightii, Berberis aristata, Emblica officinalis, Azadirachta indica, Cassia fistula, Terminalia chebula, Shilajeet, and Bauhinia variegata have potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions. Pilex forte tablet reverses the severity of inflammation and vasodilatation in the anorectal region and reduces the inflammatory cell infiltration (namely tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin 6). 2. MMP-inhibitory action: Berberis aristata, Commiphora wightii, and Triphala (Emblica officinalis, Terminalia chebula, and Terminalia bellirica) downregulate the overexpression of MMP-9, usually seen in hemorrhoids. 3. Wound-healing action: Cassia fistula, Terminalia chebula, and Azadirachta indica accelerate wound healing by supporting epithelial regeneration. 4. Antimicrobial action: Emblica officinalis, Terminalia chebula, Mesua ferrea, Cassia fistula, Azadirachta indica, Berberis aristata, Caesalpinia bonducella, and Acorus calamus have potent broad-spectrum antimicrobial action and prevent secondary microbial infections. 5.
