Alleviates climacteric symptoms during perimenopause: Menosan helps prevent neurodegenerative changes and enhances cognitive functions. Centella asiatica, Asparagus racemosus, Glycyrrhiza glabra, Sida cordifolia, and Zaharmohara bhasma alleviate the associated psychological symptoms like anxiety, depression, mood fluctuations, insomnia, and other emotional disorders of perimenopausal syndrome. Glycyrrhiza glabra soothes the mucous membrane of genital organs and alleviates perimenopausal symptoms including pruritus vulvae, hot flashes, and night sweats. 2. Alleviates climacteric symptoms during postmenopause: Asparagus racemosus, Terminalia chebula, Glycyrrhiza glabra, and Saraca indica have estrogenic action, which alleviates the associated symptoms of postmenopause like depression, mood swings, weight gain, irritability, hot flashes, sleep disturbances, dyslipidemia, and loss of bladder control. 3. Antioxidant action: Antioxidants are widely used during menopause for maintaining health and preventing diseases. Asparagus racemosus, Glycyrrhiza glabra, and Terminalia arjuna are reported to have potent antioxidant activity. 4. Protects against increased risk of postmenopausal cardiovascular diseases (CVDs): The phytoestrogens present in Menosan possess antiatherogenic activity that upregulates LDL receptors and inhibits endogenous cholesterol synthesis. The phytoestrogens also inhibit cholesterol-7-hydroxylase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol synthesis. Glycyrrhiza glabra and Terminalia arjuna have remarkable antiatherogenic activity.
