Liv.52 reduces hepatic inflammation and hepatocyte necrosis/hepatic cell death caused by drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Liv.52 decreases DNA fragmentation through its antioxidant activity, which reduces cell death and downregulates inflammatory mediators such as TNF-α and interleukin (IL)-8.
