Drug Interactions No clinically significant drug interactions have been reported. Presentation Box of 2 blister-pack strips of 30 tablets each. Pharmacologic Actions of Principal Ingredients 1. Antilithiatic and lithotriptic actions Cystone forte tablet exhibits antilithiatic action that helps prevent the deposition, accumulation, and supersaturation of calculogenic chemicals in urine, and thus, inhibits calculogenesis. Cystone forte corrects the crystalloid–colloid imbalance. Cystone forte possesses lithotriptic action, which dissolves the mucin (an agent that binds stone particles). D pedicellata, D biflorus, S ligulata, T terrestris, and Hajrul yahood bhasma prevent the deposition, accumulation, and supersaturation of calculogenic chemicals in urine. Hajrul yahood bhasma has lithotriptic property. R cordifolia helps dissolve oxalate stones present in the urinary tract, and thereby facilitates their expulsion without recourse to surgery. 2. pH-Renormalizing action Cystone forte tablet renormalizes urinary pH and relieves burning micturition. S ligulata renormalizes and maintains urinary pH within the alkaline range. 3. Diuretic action The diuretic action of Cystone forte tablet helps flush small stones and gravel. S ligulata, A aspera, O bracteatum, and T grandis have potent diuretic actions. C scariosus exhibits diuretic activity, and it is also useful in maintaining genitourinary health. 4. Antimicrobial action Cystone forte tablet has broad-spectrum antimicrobial action against common urinary pathogens. S ligulata, R cordifolia, O basilicum, T terrestris, E arvense, and M pudica have broad-spectrum antimicrobial action against common urinary pathogens responsible for recurrent UTI. 5. Antiadherent action The polyphenols present in Cystone forte tablet are known to act as natural antiadhesion components responsible for preventing the adhesion of E coli to the uroepithelium. This helps in the natural evacuation of E coli along with urine flow. 6. Anti-inflammatory action C scariosus, R cordifolia, V cinerea, Shilajeet, O basilicum, and S ligulata have anti-inflammatory activity. 7. Demulcent action P odorata possesses demulcent property, and hence, soothes and protects the irritated or inflamed internal tissues. O bracteatum is known to have diuretic, demulcent, and spasmolytic actions. It soothes the urinary tract and reduces bladder irritation. 8. Spasmolytic action Cystone forte tablet exhibits spasmolytic activity and relieves renal colic. O bracteatum is known to have spasmolytic activity. 9. Antioxidant action R cordifolia, E arvense, and T grandis have strong antioxidant property. 10. Tonic action Cystone forte tablet has tonic property that tones the urinary tract. Shilajeet treats urinary disorders through its tonic activity. C scariosus is useful in maintaining genitourinary health because of its tonic activity.
